WORKTIMECHECK

Calculation Standards & Corrections

How we check calculator behavior and handle reproducible calculation errors.

WorkTimeCheck is designed around results that users can independently reproduce. Calculator behavior is checked against known inputs and the formulas documented in our Calculation Methodology.

What we check

Representative checks cover ordinary same-day intervals, shifts crossing midnight, unpaid-break deductions, hours-and-minutes addition, decimal-hour conversion, clock-out calculations, weekly totals and separate-week handling on biweekly time cards.

Consistency between tool and explanation

Worked examples are intended to reflect the same calculation logic used by the interactive tool. When calculator behavior changes, related explanatory text should be reviewed so the two do not contradict one another.

Rounding and display

Hour-and-minute calculations retain minute-level values. Decimal-hour displays may be rounded for readability, so a displayed decimal should not be interpreted as greater precision than the entered time values support.

How to report an error

Send the calculator name, the exact inputs used, the result shown and the result you expected through our contact channel. Please do not include confidential employee records or sensitive personal information.

How corrections are handled

A reported issue should first be reproduced. If the calculator logic or its explanation is incorrect, the relevant implementation and supporting content should be corrected together. We do not describe a mathematical estimate as a legal determination.

Scope

These standards apply to WorkTimeCheck calculation logic and explanatory content. They do not establish payroll compliance, tax treatment, employment rights or legal eligibility.
