How to use the add time calculator
Enter up to three durations as hours and minutes. WorkTimeCheck converts each duration to minutes, adds them together and displays the combined result in hours and minutes, decimal hours and total minutes.
1 hour 45 minutes + 2 hours 30 minutes + 50 minutes equals 5 hours 5 minutes.
How to add time
Each duration is converted to minutes using hours × 60 + minutes. The minute values are added, then the total is converted back into hours and minutes. This avoids manually carrying every 60 minutes into another hour.
For example, 1:45 + 2:30 + 0:50 becomes 105 + 150 + 50 = 305 minutes, or 5 hours 5 minutes.
Adding minutes greater than 59
Because these fields represent durations rather than clock times, a minutes entry can exceed 59. Entering 90 minutes contributes the same duration as 1 hour 30 minutes. The final answer is normalized automatically.
